Emergency room practitioners can be successfully trained in two hours to counsel problem drinkers in a 10-minute intervention, according to a study by Yale researchers in Academic Emergency Medicine.
A new study from the Swedish medical university Karolinska Institutet shows that asthma drugs are a potential treatment for aortic aneurysm. These drugs, which block cysteinyl-leukotrienes, could reduce the break down of vessel wall tissue and the dilation of the aortic wall, and thus the risk of its rupturing.
When it comes to public perception about health disparities in the United States, political ideology plays a surprisingly large role - more so even than party affiliation, according to new research by a Michigan State University sociologist.
