The use of electronic health records is linked to significantly higher quality care, according to a new study- by Lisa Kern and her team, from the Health Information Technology Evaluation Collaborative in the US. Their work appears online in the Journal of General Internal Medicine-, published by Springer.
The Los Angeles Times: A report released Wednesday at a national meeting on aging asks lawmakers to consider changes to Medicaid and Social Security rules that could help gay and lesbian senior citizens.
The American College of Rheumatology today applauded the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' decision to withdraw a proposed rule to implement the "Most Favored Nation" payment model for Part B drugs.
The Journal of Pathology recently published a paper entitled Prevalence of lymphoreticular prion protein accumulation in UK tissue samples. The study looked at 12,674 stored appendix and tonsil samples, and found that 3 of them showed evidence of the prion protein associated with variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD).
