GlobeImmune Inc. today announced that a late breaking abstract related to GI-5005, its investigational hepatitis C virus (HCV) product candidate, has been accepted for presentation at the 60th Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), which will take place Oct. 31 through Nov. 4, 2009, in Boston, Mass.
Cedars-Sinai researchers have successfully tested two new methods for preserving cognition in laboratory mice that exhibit features of Alzheimer's disease by using white blood cells from bone marrow and a drug for multiple sclerosis to control immune response in the brain.
The new health law will infuse $3 billion into health research that compares treatments to gauge which are most effective, building on an earlier federal investment of $1.1 billion from the stimulus package, Bloomberg BusinessWeek reports.
