A global study led by researchers at The University of Western Australia has addressed the rising use of intravenous iron therapy in anemic patients during major surgery and found there is little benefit.
Cara Therapeutics, Inc. today announced positive data in a Phase II proof-of-concept clinical trial of its peripherally-restricted kappa opioid agonist, CR845. The 46 patient Phase II, multi-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was conducted at eight hospitals in the United States and evaluated the efficacy and safety of CR845 in women following laparoscopic-assisted hysterectomy.
Ironwood Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: IRWD) announced today that dosing has begun in its Phase IIa clinical study of its investigational compound IW-3718 in patients suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) who have not responded adequately to treatment with a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Data are expected in the first half of 2015.
LeMaitre Vascular, Inc., a provider of peripheral vascular devices and implants, today announced Q2 2010 financial results. The Company posted record quarterly sales of $14.2mm and record quarterly operating income of $2.0mm. The Company also increased its share repurchase program to $5mm and raised its sales and operating income guidance for 2010.
