In a recent paper published in the journal Skeletal Muscle, a Saint Louis University researcher reports success in identifying new drug targets that potentially could slow or halt the progression of a form muscular dystrophy, an illness characterized by progressive muscle degeneration.
Now that the badly botched rollout of the federal government's health care website seems to be behind us, Republicans have shifted their criticisms to several states that are experiencing problems enrolling people on their state-run exchanges.
An enzyme known to help our liver get rid of ammonia also appears to be good at protecting our retina, scientists report.
Emisphere Technologies, Inc. today announced that an independent Data Monitoring Committee ("DMC") informed Novartis and its partner Nordic Bioscience about their recommendation to proceed with the Osteoporosis ("OP") Phase 3 Study 2303 and the Osteoarthritis ("OA") Phase 3 Study 2301 exploring the safety and efficacy of an oral formulation of salmon calcitonin to treat patients with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis of the knee.
