A new study on the cognitive and emotional functioning of people with a high body mass index (BMI), which was published in the journal Heliyon shows that early life experiences can create a deep impact on future eating patterns and dietary habits leading to obesity or overweight.
Due to the spread of antibiotic-resistant strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae, existing treatments for gonorrhea, the sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium, are no longer effective. In the absence of a vaccine, there is an urgent need to develop novel treatment options.
A new grant will fund an international collaboration to develop tools to assess patients who suffer from cardiovascular disease.
