A basic scientist in the Department of Surgery at Jefferson Medical College and the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson has shared a patent on what may someday be a ubiquitous tool in DNA analysis.
In a study recently published in the leading journal "Blood", Florian Moik and Cihan Ay from the Division of Hematology and Hemastasology of the Department of Medicine I of MedUni Vienna/Vienna General Hospital, working in collaboration with the Division of Oncology, the Department of Dermatology and the dispensary of Vienna General Hospital, provided preliminary data on the incidence, risk factors and clinical outcomes of thrombotic complications in this new form of cancer treatment.
A new study has shown that children in the United States are consuming too much added sugars and their daily intake exceeds the amounts recommended for adults.
Eye cancer took the life of author and neurologist Oliver Sacks last year, bringing attention to the rare and deadly disease. Scientists have tried to develop precision treatments against cancers like this one, but the mutations that cause them have proven difficult to block with drugs.
