In recognition of Veteran's Day this November Penn Medicine proudly sponsors Joining Forces - a national initiative to heighten awareness about the health needs of our nation's veterans, service members and families, and elevate the role that medical schools, nursing schools and teaching hospitals play in serving their community.
Medicare's actuary warned Tuesday that controlling cost growth is the primary challenge to the entitlement program's financial stability, but that neither the premium support system sought by Republicans nor cost-cutting measures pushed by the administration provide all the answers.
Scientists have identified a key molecule responsible for triggering the chemical processes in our brain linked to our formation of memories. The findings, published in the journal Frontiers in Neural Circuits, reveal a new target for therapeutic interventions to reverse the devastating effects of memory loss.
Nurses at Northside Medical Center will conduct informational picketing in front of the hospital on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., including some who will wear gags to demonstrate their concerns that management proposals in current contract talks could limit their ability to speak out for patient safety and quality care.
In the largest series of patients to date, recent research shows that the translaminar approach to cervical spinal steroid injections can reduce neck pain in eighty-three percent of those treated.
