Researchers at the Université Paris Descartes/CNRS and the Université libre de Bruxelles have made a major breakthrough in the study of cystinosis, a genetic disease that can lead to serious disorders, notably fatal kidney failure.
The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services (SPHHS) announced today that, thanks in part to funding from The Kresge Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, it is launching the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership (NCMLP), a project aimed at ensuring every low-income individual has access to legal care as part of comprehensive healthcare.
People with moderate-to-severe periodontitis are at increased risk for community-acquired pneumonia compared with those with healthy gums, show study findings.
In a new study currently available on the medRxiv* preprint server, US researchers report the detection of a specific sub-lineage of B.1.1.7 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variant harboring a novel S:D178H mutation and elucidate its transmission and evolutionary patterns.
