At present, when a woman undergoes preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) in a fertility clinic, doctors are trying to select an egg or an embryo that is healthy and doesn't have a chromosome abnormality such as an extra copy of chromosome 21, which causes Down's syndrome. In order to establish this, they either have to biopsy a part of the egg called the polar body or remove a cell from the embryo for screening. Both procedures are expensive, invasive and can damage the egg or embryo.
Plenty of hospitals and medical providers claim they do a great job at caring for patients and protecting their safety during care. But very few actually publish the cold, hard numbers that could prove those claims. And even fewer do it like the University of Michigan Health System has: on a website open to anyone, with dozens of charts and graphs showing actual performance and comparisons to national averages and benchmarks.
Medical imaging AI specialist Avicenna.AI today announced it has received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration for its CINA Head triage AI solution for neurovascular emergencies.
The U.S. District Court in the District of Delaware has ordered the dismissal of two patent infringement claims originally filed by Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) against Knowles Electronics. The order was issued pursuant to the withdrawal of its claims by Analog Devices under a stipulation of dismissal signed by both parties.
Tahitian Noni International's Brett West, director of noni benefits research, and his team have recently published another peer-reviewed paper on the power of iridoids in Tahitian Noni® Bioactives™. The paper, published just this month in the Wiley Online Library, concludes that iridoids are the major source of bioactivity in Tahitian Noni Bioactives, and that substantial iridoids can be found in the noni fruit, leaf, root, seed, and flower of noni plants.
