A new study by Yale Cancer Center and Smilow Cancer Hospital researchers suggests that the drug venetoclax aids therapy for relapsed/refractory myelodysplastic syndromes, especially when paired with azacytidine.
The Alcon Independent Director Committee today said that Alcon's impressive Q4/FY 2009 financial results underscore the intrinsic value of Alcon and reinforce its conclusion that the Novartis proposal is grossly inadequate. The Committee further noted that the financial results extend an impressive tradition of excellence, as Alcon has now outperformed Wall Street estimates in 27 of the 30 fiscal quarters since its IPO, including the last five consecutive quarters.
A panel of pediatric experts has issued new treatment guidelines for traumatic brain injury (TBI) in children, to help improve standards of care and rates of survival and recovery.
Advanced paternal age has been associated with greater risk for psychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia and autism. With an increase in paternal age, there is a greater frequency of certain types of mutations that contribute to these disorders in offspring.
