BioLight Life Sciences Investments, a firm that invests in, manages and commercializes biomedical innovations in ophthalmology and cancer diagnostics, today announced that it has expanded its relationship with Ora, Inc., a world-leading independent, full-service ophthalmic contract research organization and product development firm, via the signing of a Collaboration Agreement (the "Agreement") pursuant to which the companies will work together to advance the clinical, regulatory and commercial development of BioLight's TeaRx multi-parameter diagnostic test for dry eye syndrome ("DES").
"There is always a risk of suffering injuries during physical activities, and skiing and snowboarding are no exception," said orthotraumatologist Wade Smith, Vice-Chairman of Orthopedics for Geisinger Health System. "Due to the nature of these sports, many of the injuries that skiers and snowboarders suffer are serious and require immediate medical attention."
Despite improved therapy, only one out of every two adult patients survive acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). The mean survival time for this disease, which predominantly occurs in the elderly, is less than a year for patients over 65 years. It is assumed that leukaemic stem cells, which cannot be completely eliminated during treatment, are the origin of relapse.
