Aspirin has long been hailed as one of the most effective, low-cost ways to help guard against a heart attack or stroke. However, international medical researchers caution that low doses of aspirin also increase a patient's chance of developing an ulcer, often without warning signs.
According to a recent survey conducted by Flavour Boss, they had found 80% of people don't think it's fair that smokers get breaks but non-smokers don't whilst 58% of people think that non-smokers should get regular fresh-air breaks at work.
Scientists from deCODE genetics today publish in Nature the highest resolution recombination map of the human genome yet developed. Recombination is the reshuffling of the genome that occurs in the formation of eggs and sperm: we inherit one version of each chromosome from each of our parents, and create novel blends of the two that we pass on to our offspring.
Many prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy via electronic health record systems; however, correct routing of discontinued medications continues to be a problem, which increases the risk for medication safety events.
Patients with chronic constipation may be at increased risk of developing colorectal cancer and benign neoplasms, according to study findings unveiled today at the American College of Gastroenterology's (ACG) 77th Annual Scientific meeting in Las Vegas.
