A new large-scale review of data on red meat consumption and mortality suggests that increasing intake of red and processed meats reduces life expectancy.
Rates of childhood obesity have tripled in the past 30 years, and food marketing has been implicated as one factor contributing to this trend. Every year, companies spend more than $10 billion in the US marketing their food and beverages to children; 98% of the food products advertised to children on television are high in fat, sugar, or sodium. In a new study scheduled for publication in The Journal of Pediatrics, researchers used neuroimaging to study the effects of food logos on obese and healthy weight children.
One of the major obstacles with treating cancer is that tumors can conscript the body's immune cells and make them work for them. Researchers at EPFL have now found a way to reclaim the corrupted immune cells, turn them into signals for the immune system to attack the tumor, and even prevent metastasis.
China Nuvo Solar Energy, Inc. today announced that SurgLine, Inc. has signed an agreement with Bluewater Surgical, Inc. to a western distributorship. Bluewater surgical plans to offer SurgLine products for spine surgery, sports medicine, trauma surgery and more to acute care hospitals and physician owned surgery centers as an alternative to the high priced medical device providers in the marketplace.
