Cambridge Heart, Inc., a developer of noninvasive diagnostic tests for cardiac disease, today announced the launch of its Microvolt T-Wave Alternans (MTWA) technology as an integrated part of industry-leading cardiac stress test systems manufactured and distributed by Cardiac Science Corporation. The MTWA technology, which can predict a patient's risk of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), is now being offered to new and existing users of Cardiac Science's Quinton Q-Stress cardiac stress systems.
A national study has found that earnings over the course of the careers of primary-care physicians averaged as much as $2.8 million less than the earnings of their specialist colleagues, potentially making primary care a less attractive choice for medical school graduates and exacerbating the already significant shortage of medical generalists.
Removing administrative barriers under the Canada-US Tax Treaty for investors such as non-resident venture capital funds are a welcome change, and ease the way for investment in Canadian biotechnology firms according to trade industry association BIOTECanada.
