PAREXEL International Corporation, a leading global biopharmaceutical services provider, today announced the launch of its patient sensor solution, a new offering that securely captures, transmits, stores, and visualises study subject data in clinical trials.
The connection between a family's income and childhood health has been well-established, with lower income linked to poorer health and a greater likelihood of more chronic conditions. Now a new study by UCLA researchers shows that the size of the paycheck is not all that matters when it comes to children's health risks. So does the amount that a family has tucked away in savings.
A physician and researcher at the Sainte Justine University Hospital Center (Sainte-Justine UHC), a University of Montreal affiliate, saved the life of a child and, by doing so, became the first to find a new use for a drug in the fight against deadly E. coli bacteria.
Twenty four per cent of them smoked compared with 18 per cent recorded in government figures for Australian females as a whole. (Among male nursing students the figure was 18.9 per cent compared with 21.1 per cent in the rest of the population.)
VIVUS, Inc. today announced that the company filed a Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) with the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for QNEXA® (phentermine/topiramate) Controlled Release Capsules in the European Union (EU). The proposed indication in the EU is for the treatment of obesity, including weight loss and maintenance of weight loss, and should be used in conjunction with a mildly hypocaloric diet.
