A new device developed by UCLA engineers and doctors eventually help scientists study the development of disease, enable them to capture improved images of the inside of cells and lead to other improvements in medical and biological research.
Critical Diagnostics announced today, Circulation, an American Heart Association Journal, released online the first study evaluating the power of ST2 to predict development of heart failure and other adverse outcomes in the general population titled, "Prognostic Utility of Novel Biomarkers of Cardiovascular Stress: The Framingham Heart Study".
A quarter of all British school children are obese and by the final year of primary school, the proportion rises to a third. Experts believe that this is not even the actual figure because many children opt out of being weighed. Urban children were much more likely to be overweight than those living in more rural areas.
Simply asking the question, "Do you want more pain medication?" resulted in satisfactory pain control in 99 percent of emergency department patients participating in a study.
