New research from the University of Chicago investigates what happens to men's and women's sexual function and relationships after a heart attack in an effort to help clinicians develop better care guidelines for patients.
Kessler Foundation scientists John O'Neill, PhD, CRC and Amanda Botticello, PhD, MPH, were awarded a subcontract on the University of New Hampshire's Rehabilitation Research and Training Center grant on Disability Statistics and Demographics. The five-year grant is funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research under cooperative agreement H133B130015. Economist Andrew Houtenville, PhD, of UNH's Institute on Disability, is project director of the StatsRRTC grant, which totals $4.3 million.
Nurses fill the hospital room to turn a patient from his stomach to his back. The ventilator forcing air into him is most effective when he's on his stomach, so he is in that position most hours of the day, sedated and paralyzed by drugs.
On June 15, the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF), in collaboration with the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Center, will bring together lymphoma experts to discuss the latest practices in the diagnosis and management of lymphoma.
Both ozone and primary pollutants from traffic substantially increase asthma-related emergency department visits in children, especially during the warm season, according to researchers from the Department of Environmental Health at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University in Atlanta.
