With flu season fast approaching, PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technicians will again play a critical role in immunization efforts at retail pharmacies across the country. For example, last year Walgreens successfully immunized over 7.4 million patients against H1N1 and seasonal influenza with the direct support of PTCB CPhTs.
In the hunt for these details, scientists have focused on four RNA building blocks, or nucleotides, deep within the machine that are identical in every species, from bacteria to humans. Because they sit where the protein chain is actually built, these "universally conserved" nucleotides in the ribosome were thought to help that process.
In the 26 states that expanded Medicaid eligibility by January 2014, federally qualified health centers observed reductions in uninsured patients and improvements in hypertension and glucose measurements, particularly among Black and Hispanic patients.
New Rhode Island regulations that took effect on Sunday require state hospitals to provide no-cost care to any uninsured resident whose income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, the Providence Journal reports.
Doctors have known for quite awhile that exercise plays a role in preventing some cancers. But in a new twist, a researcher at the James C. Wilmot Cancer Center is studying whether exercise provides therapeutic benefits, such as easing fatigue during radiation treatments.
