The journal Accounts of Chemical Research, which has a profound impact on Chemistry and other related sciences, publishes on its current issue the article "Anion Transporters and Biological Systems", signed by Professor Ricardo Pérez Tomás, from the Department of Pathology and Experimental Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, Roberto Quesada, from the Department of Chemistry of the Sciences Faculty at the University of Burgos, and Philip A. Gale, from the University of Southampton, in the United Kingdom.
While all age groups report comparable improvement in range of motion following total knee replacement surgery (TKR), new research presented today at the 2016 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons found that patients age 45 and younger, and those age 75 and older, report more pain and less activity following the procedure.
Researchers at the Eli and Edythe Broad Center of Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research at UCLA have identified the process by which stem cells in the airways of the lungs switch between two distinct phases - creating more of themselves and producing mature airway cells - to regenerate lung tissue after an injury.
