A male's total testosterone level may be linked to more than just sexual health and muscle mass preservation, a new study finds. Low amounts of the hormone could also be associated with chronic disease, even among men 40 years of age and younger.
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is characterised primarily by fatigue but people often report muscle pain and sleep problems as well as concentration and memory problems. The symptoms affect people's ability to carry out normal activities that healthy people take for granted. CFS can affect relationships, work and leisure activities.
New research shows for the first time that certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV), which cause cervical and some other types of cancer, can inhibit the production of a tiny single-stranded RNA called microRNA 34a, or miR-34a.
BioTek's Cytation™3 Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Reader was recently honored with the first annual New Product Innovation Award, given by MipTec organizers at the 2013 MipTec Conference & Exhibition in Basel, Switzerland. Cytation3 was one of three winning products announced at the exhibition on September 25, 2013.
