At least 50 people have been diagnosed with a rare type of eye cancer called ocular melanoma. They are all residents of two locations - Huntersville, North Carolina, and Auburn, Alabama. The cancer is rare and occurs in only six per 1 million population. The high rate of incidence of this cancer in these two locations has stumped researchers.
As many as 15,000 birds have now been slaughtered in Norfolk in the UK in an attempt to stop the spread of a strain of bird flu.
Abbott, a global, broad-based health care company, and the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University today announced the creation of an endowed chair to focus on teaching the next generation of rheumatologists for the growing number of Canadians living with arthritis.
