A little empathy can go a long way toward ending infectious disease outbreaks. That's a conclusion from researchers at the Georgia Institute of Technology, who used a networked variation of game theory to study how individual behavior during an outbreak of influenza - or other illness - affects the progress of the disease, including how rapidly the outbreak dies out.
The Hospital of Central Connecticut (THOCC), a 400-bed hospital in New Britain, has chosen Ingenious Med's IM Practice Manager to automate, organize and increase quality of care and revenue. In the first phase, more than 75 physicians at THOCC will be using IM's handheld and Internet-based solution, joining hundreds of other physicians in Connecticut as licensed Ingenious Med users, making it the most widely used electronic charge capture system in the state.
According to researchers from Harvard School of Public Health and Children's Hospital Boston, children who do not conform to their gender-expected behaviors and interests are at a higher risk of being abused and facing subsequent traumas. Their work is published in the journal Pediatrics.
