Each of the seven California Democrats who flipped Republican congressional seats in the midterm election campaigned for more government-funded health care — with most of them calling for a complete government takeover.
A consortium led by the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre's researcher Mar-a S. Soengas −Programme Director of the Centre-s Molecular Pathology Programme and Leader of the CNIO Melanoma Group− has been selected to receive funding from the Melanoma Research Alliance, the most important private international melanoma research foundation, in order to advance research in melanoma; this type of skin tumour represents one of oncology's biggest challenges due to its high incidence and malignancy.
It is well known that pre-existing cancer is a significant risk factor for venous thrombosis. What was hitherto unclear was whether cancer also has a negative impact upon the risk of heart attacks, strokes or occlusions of peripheral arteries.
Three commonly argued justifications for the persistent discrimination and gender bias that prevent women from rising to leadership positions in the field of pediatric medicine have been debunked by a Drexel University College of Medicine researcher and colleagues in a special article published in the November 2019 issue of the journal Pediatrics.
One problem that confounds researchers who are developing nanoparticles for use as cancer imaging and therapeutic agents is that many nanoparticles accumulate blood proteins on their surfaces as they circulate through the body.
