Clinical Data, Inc., today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved vilazodone HCl tablets, to be marketed under the brand name Viibryd™, for the treatment of adults with major depressive disorder (MDD).
A hormone mimic called Octreotide may be effective for treating polycystic liver disease (PLD) caused by ADPKD, according to a study appearing in an upcoming issue of the Journal of the American Society Nephrology (JASN). The study is the first clinical trial performed in the United States to test the effects of this agent in PLD.
The project of Professor Geneviève Bordeleau, from the Institut national de la recherche scientifique, received financial support from the Quebec government under the International Climate Cooperation Program, a program of the 2013-2020 Action Plan on Climate Change, which was succeeded by the 2030 Plan for a Green Economy.
Low-income women with abnormal Pap tests who participated in a program that combines screening and treatment in one visit had a higher rate of treatment and follow-up than women who did not participate, according to a study in the November 2 issue of JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association.
