CombiMatrix Corporation announced today that it is implementing a restructuring plan to significantly reduce operating costs, increase the focus on the Company's diagnostic services business and transition senior management. After the restructuring, CombiMatrix will be focused on its diagnostics services business, including increasing utilization of its existing tests, expanding the test menu, increasing the number of customers and partners, and improving reimbursement for its testing services.
Certain genes that code for proteins have long been known to contribute to cancer progression. But in a frame shift, researchers from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine recently found that non-coding genes also contribute to the development and spreading of the disease, one of the first known examples of researchers doing so.
On the campaign trail, GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney takes a hard line against the heatlh law, saying it needs to be undone no matter what the court determines. But on the eve of the expected high court ruling, a 2006 video emerged in which then-Gov. Romney embraced the individual mandate as part of Massachusetts' state reforms.
