The Life Sciences Discovery Fund today announced nearly $15 million in program grant awards to support collaborative research initiatives spearheaded by three Washington state life sciences organizations.
Endo Pharmaceuticals today reported financial results for the second quarter 2010. Total revenues during the second quarter of 2010 increased 6 percent to $396.5 million, compared with $373.1 million in the same quarter of 2009. Net income for the three months ended June 30, 2010 was $51.5 million, compared with $30.0 million in the comparable 2009 period.
To ease the pain of recovery following prostate cancer surgery, physician-scientists have developed an innovative and patient-friendly approach that eliminates the use of a penile urinary catheter. The new patentable technique, used in conjunction with robotic prostatectomy - the surgical removal of the prostate - eliminates the pain and discomfort associated with the standard catheter.
Epizyme, Inc., a company leading the creation of a new class of personalized therapeutics for patients with genetically defined cancers, announced today that it has initiated a Phase 1 Study of EPZ-5676. EPZ-5676 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of DOT1L, a histone methyltransferase (HMT) that is critical to the development of a specific type of acute leukemia defined by rearrangement of the MLL gene (MLL-r leukemia).
