MRO Corp., a leading provider of disclosure management applications and services for healthcare organizations, today announced the launch of software upgrades for Audit Tracker Online. The upgrades to MRO's request management program offer hospitals and health systems enhanced performance and functionality in effectively managing payer audits and denials from initial medical records request through appeals and payment resolution.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the health care proposals being considered by Congress would prohibit insurers from charging higher premiums based on preexisting conditions, "[b]ut the far reaching clampdown on insurers leaves one highly controversial element untouched: the issue of charging higher premiums to older policyholders than to younger, presumably healthier consumers who are less likely to file costly claims.
