Sinai Hospital of Baltimore endocrinologist, Henry G. Fein, M.D., today presented new research showing that patients with Cushing's syndrome, a rare disease that can lead to extreme weight gain, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and psychological issues, experienced significant, sustained weight loss while taking oral medication daily over a number of years to manage symptoms of the disease.
Comprehensive guidelines for the treatment and management of hypertension in children and adolescents are being published for the first time in the latest issue of the Journal of Hypertension.
The levels of an inflammatory chemokine were significantly elevated in patients with pancreatic cancer who were extremely obese, according to research conducted by scientists at the Jefferson Pancreatic, Biliary and Related Cancers Center. They presented their data at the 5th Annual Academic Surgical Congress, held in San Antonio.
