Physicians who work in small, independent primary care practices-also known as SIPs-report dramatically lower levels of burnout than the national average, according to a study led by researchers at NYU School of Medicine publishing online July 9 in the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine.
Ten years after the identification of the first breast cancer susceptibility genes so few high-risk minority women have received genetic counseling or testing that the standard methods of calculating risk have not been validated in these groups and the results of genetic testing can still produce surprises.
A new technology which could increase protection against antibacterial and antifungal infection for weeks, months or years has been developed by researchers at the University of Bristol.
Pulmonary fibrosis has no cure. It's caused by scarring that seems to feed on itself, with the tougher, less elastic tissue replacing the ever moving and stretching lung, making it increasingly difficult for patients to breathe.
