Apollo Endosurgery, Inc., a global leader in less invasive medical devices for bariatric and gastrointestinal procedures, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Slater Endoscopy, LLC to distribute the cold EnsizorĀ® Flexible Endoscopic Scissors in the United States, Europe, and select other markets.
The Health Coalition on Liability and Access today sent the following letters to Speaker John Boehner and Congressman Phil Gingrey, in support of the impending vote on medical liability reform:
Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer globally and the second most common cause of cancer deaths. The chance of a cure is high if the cancer is detected early enough, but early detection is not a given. Researchers from VIB and KU Leuven - together with various European oncology centers, including UZ Leuven - have identified bio-markers that can be incorporated in a new diagnostic test.
A team of cardiac experts led by Dr. N S Devananda, Consultant Cardiac Surgeon, Wockhardt Hospitals, Bangalore (Now a Network Hospital of Fortis) has performed a major open heart surgery on a 2-year-old baby from Nigeria. Baby Brendan was suffering from congenital heart defect called - Tetralogy of Fallot or complex blue baby syndrome.
As part of its ongoing efforts to stop bogus health claims, the Federal Trade Commission has reached a settlement requiring major marketers of children's vitamins to stop making false and unproven claims that their supplements promote healthy brain and eye development in children. The companies have agreed to pay $2.1 million to provide refunds to consumers who purchased certain multivitamins in their Disney and Marvel Heroes line.
