Live, Love and Ride…that's the slogan on BikerMonkey's blog post. If only life was truly that simple. Cancer affects virtually every family in some way… loved ones, friends, neighbors and coworkers.
LA Fitness is pleased to announce the opening of its newest sports club, a 42,000 square foot facility in Long Beach, CA. The club, formerly a Circuit City store, is located at the intersection of North Bellflower Boulevard and Stearns Street. The club address is 2180 Bellflower Boulevard. A grand opening party is scheduled for Saturday, December 11, 2010.
U.N. officials on Tuesday said that the number of hungry people worldwide dropped for the first time in 15 years, but warned that the number is still too large, the New York Times reports (MacFarquhar, 9/14).
X-rays are not the only way: visible and especially infrared light can also be used to image human tissue. The effectiveness of optical imaging processes can be significantly improved with suitable dyes used as contrast agents. In the journal Angewandte Chemie, a team led by Wenbin Lin at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, USA) has now introduced a novel contrast agent that marks tumor cells in vitro. The dye is a phosphorescent ruthenium complex incorporated into nanoparticles of a metal–organic coordination polymer, which allows an extraordinarily high level of dye loading.
At some point in their lives, 15 percent of people with diabetes will develop a painful and hard-to-treat foot ulcer.
