Neovasc Inc. today announced that it has received conditional Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to initiate the U.S. arm of its TIARA-I Early Feasibility Trial for the Company's Tiara™ transcatheter mitral valve.
The study of these unique substances in each of us paves the way for a revolution in the treatment and prevention of diseases, allowing for early diagnosis and increasingly targeted pharmacological treatments.
New findings from a large European study of patients in 18 countries, including the UK, show that while many patients are able to reduce their risk through taking statins, those at the highest risk of cardiovascular events may benefit from combinations of lipid-lowering therapies.
In experiments with fruit flies, Johns Hopkins researchers have discovered how a key light-detecting molecule in the eye moves in response to changes in light intensity.
