Scientists have provided new insights into how the brain is organised - knowledge which could eventually inform diagnosis of and treatments for conditions like Alzheimer's disease and autism.
Ovarian cancer survivors, their friends and families, local businesses, corporate teams and employees of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will join forces May 5 at the 15th annual Sprint for Life 5K Run/Walk and Sprint for Sprouts Kids' Run. The approximately 3,000 participants will come together for a common cause: to build awareness of ovarian cancer and raise funds for research.
Years before inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is diagnosed and symptoms exist, biomarkers are already circulating that can help predict risk not only of disease development but also of complications, according to research published online last week, which will also appear in the June 15th print issue of Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics.
Fewer physicians are accepting Medicaid beneficiaries as new patients, in part because they say that reimbursements are too low and because of "administrative hassles," according to a study from the Center for Studying Health System Change, the AP/Long Island Newsday reports.
