Health Literacy And Outcomes Among Patients With Heart Failure - This study examines the correlation between health literacy, or the ability to understand basic health information, and the mortality rate among patients with heart failure, which is a condition that "requires self-management and frequent interactions with the health care system."
Physicians across a broad range of medical fields, clinical researchers and bone experts from throughout Latin America will meet in S-o Paulo, Brazil from May 24-27, 2012 for the region's leading bone event - the IOF Regionals - 1st Latin America Osteoporosis Meeting.
Early identification and removal of cancerous colorectal polyps is critical to preventing the progression of colorectal cancer and improving survival rates.
The study, carried out in Leicester, looked at the information preferences of British Asian patients – the majority of which were first generation and spoke English as well as their native language. It found that over half of English-speaking Asian patients would prefer to discuss their cancer and read health leaflets in their mother tongue.
