McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK) today reported that revenues for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013 were $33 billion, up 11% compared to $29.8 billion a year ago. On the basis of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP"), second-quarter earnings per diluted share was $1.74 compared to $1.67 a year ago.
An $18 million commitment from the Simms/Mann Family Foundation, led by Dr. Victoria Mann Simms and Ronald Simms, will support UCLA's expansion of integrative psychosocial care for people with cancer and their families into communities throughout Southern California.
The 20th century was dominated by breakthroughs in physics and chemistry, but the 21st century will belong to genetics and biotechnology. Cancer research is just one area among many that is being transformed by the sequencing of the human genome.
