A new study has shown that that visceral obesity may be associated with an increased risk for dementia among older individuals.
MorphoSys AG announced today that it has received a milestone payment from OncoMed Pharmaceuticals in connection with the FDA acceptance of an IND for a HuCAL-derived, fully human antibody. The antibody OMP-18R5, which targets the Wnt signaling pathway, will be evaluated in a Phase 1 trial in the US in patients with advanced solid tumors.
US research published (Thursday 10 June) in Europe's leading reproductive medicine journal Human Reproduction suggests that a single act of unprotected intercourse is more likely to lead to an unwanted pregnancy than was previously believed.
A preliminary study conducted by researchers funded by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering may improve our prediction of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). Every year more than 40 million people worldwide suffer from mTBI. 3.8 million concussions occur in the US each year during sports and recreation alone.
