More than 3,300 people in the mental health population of the Los Angeles County jail are appropriate candidates for diversion into programs where they would receive community-based clinical services rather than incarceration, according to a new RAND Corporation study.
Free infectious HIV-1 is widely thought to be the major form of the virus in the blood of infected persons. U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) researchers, however, have demonstrated that essentially all of the infectious virus particles can bind to the surface of red blood cells isolated from each of 30 normal (non-infected) human donors.
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that detailed clinical data from the positive Phase 2b portion of the seamless Phase 2/3 MOBILITY trial of sarilumab in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) will be presented at a late-breaking poster session at the upcoming American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Annual Scientific Meeting, which will take place from November 5-9 in Chicago.
A study, led by cardiologist, Dr. Franklin Zimmerman of Columbia University, will use an ambulatory blood pressure monitor (ABPM) to determine whether cheering for your favorite baseball team is hazardous to your health.
Alogliptin, a highly selective dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-4) inhibitor under investigation for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, demonstrated efficacy in reducing glucose levels throughout the day, in an early phase clinical study.
