One of the biggest challenges facing cancer genomics researchers is the lack normalized data on cancer genes. Multitudes of genomics projects have been funded over the years that have resulted in data being placed on several different databases, making a wide array of data and annotations difficult to integrate and compare.
New research published online today in Circulation Research found that injections of adult patients' own CD34+ stem cells reduced reports of angina episodes and improved exercise tolerance time in patients with chronic, severe refractory angina (severe chest discomfort that did not respond to other therapeutic options).

Dr. Max Self grabbed a sanitary wipe and cleaned off the small flashlight in his hands. More than 20 years as a family doctor in rural Fort Scott, Kan., has taught him a few tricks: "I've got my flashlight. See? Look, you want to hold it?"
DURECT Corporation today reported that Pfizer Inc. has received a Complete Response Letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its New Drug Application (NDA) for REMOXY, a controlled-release form of oxycodone designed to discourage common methods of tampering.
