InSite Vision Incorporated today announced that patient enrollment has begun in the first Phase 3 clinical trial of BromSite (ISV-303) for the reduction of pain and inflammation after cataract surgery.
Continuing to be at the forefront of innovative research, education and services for individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism, the Training, Education and Research Institute (TERI), Inc. today launched a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive online training program aimed at creating a pool of Life Coaches to assist this special population and their families.
Taking antibiotics may increase the risk that a child will develop juvenile arthritis, according to a study from Rutgers University, University of Pennsylvania and Nemours A.I. duPont Hospital for Children published today in Pediatrics.
Research presented today, at the 117th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology in New Orleans, has found that women who have taken oral contraceptives for three or more years are twice as likely to suffer from glaucoma, one of the leading causes of blindness which affects nearly 60 million worldwide. The researchers caution gynecologists and ophthalmologists to be aware of the fact that oral contraceptives might play a role in glaucomatous diseases, and inform patients to have their eyes screened for glaucoma if they also have other risk factors.
The Washington Post reports on Haiti's efforts to fight lymphatic filariasis, a parasitic mosquito-borne disease that can cause elephantiasis and is present in 80 percent of the country.
