Scientists have revealed a new technique to introduce disease-blocking bacteria into mosquitoes, with promising results that may halt the spread of diseases such as dengue, yellow fever and potentially malaria.
The amount of an orally taken drug that makes it to the site in the body at which it exerts its effects is much lower than the amount of an intravenously administered drug and it varies considerably between individuals.
Deworm the World on Tuesday unveiled a new website, which "is now more interactive and more suited to feature deworming programs around the world," according to End The Neglect blog.
Trius Therapeutics, Inc. announced today that the results of multiple studies from its drug development programs, including its lead antibiotic drug candidate torezolid phosphate (TR-701), will be presented in poster presentations at the 50th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC) meeting in Boston September 12-15.
No drugs exist to protect the public from the high levels of radiation that could be released by a "dirty" bomb or nuclear explosion.
