Older patients with traumatic spinal cord injury are less likely than younger patients to receive surgical treatment and experience a significant lag between injury and surgery, according to new research in CMAJ (Canadian Medical Association Journal).
Daiichi Sankyo Company, Limited, announced today that it has initiated a new large-scale pivotal Phase III trial for edoxaban, its investigational oral Factor Xa inhibitor. This new study, called HOKUSAI (pronounced hoe·koo·sigh) VTE, is evaluating the safety and efficacy of edoxaban in reducing recurrent venous thromboembolic (VTE) complications in patients with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and/or pulmonary embolism (PE).
There are no significant differences in death or neurodevelopmental impairment between toddlers who underwent early continuous positive airway pressure or early surfactant administration as extremely premature infants, research shows.
Some small businesses are getting notice of insurance policy cancellations, just like their individual coverage counterparts. Other small business owners continue to wait to learn what options will be available to them through the law's online marketplaces.
