Gilead Sciences, Inc. has announced receipt of a Paragraph IV Certification Notice Letter advising that Teva Pharmaceuticals submitted an Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requesting permission to manufacture and market a generic version of Atripla (efavirenz 600 mg/emtricitabine 200 mg/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300 mg). Atripla is currently sold in the United States through a joint venture between Bristol-Myers Squibb and Gilead.
Recently, Health Canada, the Canadian government's public health department, announced new sodium reduction efforts despite the latest scientific evidence.
A research team led by Dr. Khaled El Emam, the Canada Research Chair in Electronic Health Information at the CHEO Research Institute, evaluated the use of technology in Canadian clinical trials, and found that a significant proportion (41%) have moved away from collecting and managing trial data using only paper records.
HITLAB has selected five finalists for its HITLAB World Cup, an international competition that promotes original solutions to pressing healthcare challenges.
