Some parents of children with autism evaluate facial expressions differently than the rest of us-and in a way that is strikingly similar to autistic patients themselves, according to new research by neuroscientist Ralph Adolphs of the California Institute of Technology and psychiatrist Joe Piven at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Genticel, a French biotechnology company and developer of innovative immunotherapies to prevent cancers caused by the human papillomavirus, today announces that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared Genticel's Investigational New Drug application to conduct in the US a phase 1 clinical study of GTL001 in patients infected with HPV 16 and/or 18, the two HPV types responsible for 70% of cervical cancer cases.
Information gleaned from the federal government's Medicare data dump shows that Oregon providers and provider groups were paid $508 million in 2012. However, some providers made more than others. Meanwhile the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that arising from the data, Wisconsin Congressional members want physicians rated on quality of care.
