Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) significantly contributes to the detection of malignant or high-risk lesions in patients with negative or indeterminate mammographic findings, according to results of a multicenter study presented today at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
A better approach to advanced illness, including fewer hospitalizations, could improve quality of life and satisfaction for the sickest patients -; and save $25 billion in annual health-care costs, according to Gundersen Health System.
A comprehensive study from Uppsala University, involving more than 250,000 women, shows that oral contraceptive use protects against ovarian and endometrial cancer. The protective effect remains for several decades after discontinuing the use. The study is published in the journal Cancer Research.
The Gerontological Society of America is now offering a free online toolkit to aid primary care providers in achieving greater awareness of cognition in their older adult patients, increasing cognitive detection of cognitive impairment, securing earlier diagnostic evaluation, and referring to community services.
