Lung cancer diagnosis tool shown to be safe and effective for older patientsA recent study in Manchester has found that a procedure to take tissue samples from lung cancer patients can be used safely in the elderly - allowing doctors to make a more accurate diagnosis and to choose appropriate treatment.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today announced that St. Louis-based Care-Tech Laboratories Inc. and its principal officers, John C. Brereton and Sherry L. Brereton, have signed a consent decree, agreeing to stop the illegal manufacture, marketing, and distribution of over-the-counter (OTC) antimicrobial drugs used to treat and prevent infection.
U-Systems, the leader in automated breast ultrasound today announced the completion of a pivotal ROC Reader Study for automated breast ultrasound cancer screening. Conducted by University of Chicago, an acclaimed pioneer in women's heath research, the multi-reader, multi-case (MRMC) ROC Reader Study was carried-out to evaluate the sensitivity of somo•v™ Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) together with a screening mammogram in detecting breast cancer in women with dense breast tissue.
Researchers at Waseda University in Japan have identified key information to help explain the formation of the "spindle apparatus", a structure required for cell division. Their findings shed light on the mechanisms behind "self-organization" - an essential characteristic of biological structures.
