A University College Dublin based start-up, THEYA Healthcare (www.theyahealthcare.com), which designs and manufactures healthcare garments, has secured an investment of €665,000.
In order to raise awareness around Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes as well as "Diabulimia", a recently reported condition where young people with diabetes choose not to take their insulin in order to lose weight, NRS Healthcare has created an informational infographic and video.
Purdue University researchers worked with the Indiana University School of Medicine to establish a technique that provides a new approach for detecting a number of genetic disorders found in infants and young children.
Women who have gene mutations that put them at high risk of ovarian and breast cancer can significantly reduce the risk of developing or dying from these cancers by having their healthy ovaries or breasts removed, according to a new study reported in the Sept. 1 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
