Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced results from an analysis of an integrated database of clinical studies that showed no increased risk of cardiovascular events associated with SYMLIN (pramlintide acetate) injection use compared to a pooled comparator group treated with either placebo or rapid-acting insulin. These findings were presented at the 70th Annual Scientific Sessions of the American Diabetes Association in Orlando, Fla.
A new development in engineering chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells, called affinity tuning, can make the CAR T cells spare normal cells and better recognize and attack cancer cells, which may help lower the toxicity associated with this type of immunotherapy when used against solid tumors, according to a preclinical study.
A light-sensing pigment found in everything from bacteria to vertebrates can be biochemically manipulated to reset itself, an important therapeutic advantage, according to new research out of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
