Emotional Intelligence (EI) has become increasingly popular in the past few years, both at social and professional levels. The objective of the research carried out with UAB psychology students consisted in analysing the possible relation between Emotional Intelligence and the use of tobacco and cannabis.
UNSW Australia scientists have discovered a link between autism and genetic changes in some segments of DNA that are responsible for switching on genes in the brain.
German researchers have found a significant association of IL28B genotypes to interferon-based antiviral treatment outcome, and to graft inflammation caused by hepatitis C virus (HCV). The study determined that the presence of G-allele serves as a marker for severe HCV-induced graft inflammation, as well as a predictor for unsuccessful treatment.
