Exposure to secondhand smoke may lead to obesity and Type 2 diabetes

Adults who are exposed to secondhand smoke have higher rates of obesity and Type 2 diabetes than do nonsmokers without environmental exposure to tobacco smoke, a new study shows. The results will be presented Sunday at The Endocrine Society's 94th Annual Meeting in Houston.

Hooper Holmes second-quarter consolidated revenues decline 12% to $40.7 million

Hooper Holmes today announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2010.

AccuPSA test for detecting prostate cancer recurrence

A new test could reliably detect early increases in prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels a biomarker commonly used to measure the recurrence of prostate cancer in men who have undergone prostate cancer treating surgery. Earlier detection of these rising levels would allow men with cancer recurrence to undergo earlier, more effective treatment for potentially better outcomes.
